Each year we choose a different local cause to support. This year we have chosen Paige Kleckner. Read below to learn more about her and her story.
Paige Kleckner is well-known in the community. For the past five years, she’s served on the local board
of the American Institute of Graphic Arts as Co-President and Membership Director. An avid reader
(especially of Harry Potter), she enjoys craft beer, coffee, avocados, riding her motorcycle, and lifting
weights at 22nd Street Barbell.
Her life changed forever on October 22, 2017.
Paige and her friends were attending Babes Ride Out, an all-female motorcycle event in Joshua Tree,
California. As they were leaving, Paige swerved to avoid an object in the road, and was thrown over the
handlebars of her bike. The resulting impact broke several of her bones, causing severe internal
abdominal injuries and partially severing her carotid arteries, resulting in a stroke.
Paige is currently receiving intensive therapy to help restore her speech, along with physical and
occupational therapy to help her regain the use of her left side. While she is making progress, her
recovery will take time, and her medical bills are high.
All proceeds from the Women’s Barbell Classic will go towards Paige’s medical bills and recovery. Join us
on April 28th to support Paige and other strong women in your community!
